HoneyBee Portraits

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

I was about to head in to the studio today, when a group of honeybees headed up by Chuck here came to the door and asked if I shot on Sundays.

I said I could, providing it was early enough so I could still make the Sunday dinner and bible study with my family. Chuck said we could do the shoot right away, so I grabbed a camera and off we went.

It makes me feel good to see these hard working little beauties at work. I love spring :-) Gav

Our First Anniversary

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Sondra and I just turned 1 this week. How time flies. Marriage is good. Everyone should do it. Besides you getting marries helps keep us in business.

Anyways we left Cyrus with the grandparents and went down to Wenatchee for a nice dinner at the Applewood Grill. It’s this neat restaurant where the steaks are cooked in and open fire rock stove. It smells so good in there. No photography, no work. Just a nice relaxing evening. God is good!

Cyrus the Longtube

Friday, March 7th, 2008

I know this is my professional photo blog, and here I keep posting mere snapshots of babies. Cyrus is so cute though. If the snapshots bore you then feel free to pass them by because I like posting about him :>)

I always laugh because his little body is so long. I know it’s pretty normal, but it’s funny in a cute way. It’s like babies have a long tube with a head on top and legs on the bottom. My joke is that an angel came to God and says. “We ran out of normal baby tubes, and we need one for the Seim baby. Shall we use those really long ones?

I decided I needed a caricature to illustrate my point so I took a picture of him and stretched it a little in Photoshop. THIS IS LONGTUBE!

Note. He’s not actually this long.

Yep he’s in for it having a dad who’s a photographer…

Wenatchee At Night

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

I’ve started doing some preliminary shots for a series of High Dynamic Range shows I wasn’t to do that focuses on cool city scenes.

I took this last night overlooking Wenatchee, and though this particular one is not everything I’m looking for I did get some good ideas about capturing the glistening side of Wenatchee.

You can click the image for a larger version. Stay tune for more like this in the future.

Cyrus Fredrick Seim

- 8hrs old
seim-baby-1Well he’s here. Yep HE! Things went great during the delivery (for Sondra anyways, I was a bit stressed) He was born around 2AM on the 3rd.

It was after the delivery that things went downhill fast. She lost a lot of blood pressure and started passing out. They me in called to help. I was working to stay calm on the outside, but I was so scared, and was praying so hard.

The way the midwife was responding, I thought we were losing her! It may not have been as bad as it seemed to me, but the midwife sent for an ambulance, and they took her from to birth center to the hospital. She was more stable by the time we were in the ER but she still couldn’t stand up, as her heart rate would go way up, her blood pressure way down, and she would get really dizzy so they decided to admit her.
